Watch these 4 short videos, in order, for a bit of an understanding of the events that followed WWII and set the stage for an era of tension, arms race, space race, and proxy wars. Create a political cartoon that addresses the controversey regarding any of these events - and post a link or picture of it as a comment to this post. The global threat during a different generation.
Watch the videos above. The first is informational about the Arms Race - the details of which were top secret - most Americans having no idea the destructive power the U.S. and the Soviet Union were mastering / or experimenting with... The second video was used as an educational program required in public schools - comparable to our ALICE drillls. Imagine being the students in the classrooms being introduced to the new real threat of a nuclear attack in this way. In a comment to this post, share your reaction. You can also consider ideas like how this is similar, how different from our current Corona virus pandemic. What do you think the real purpose of this government required educational program was? You are also encouraged to reply RESPECTFULLY to eachothers' comments.
